Tasmania Zoo tops Northern Tasmania’s average tourism growth fourfold

Following news of an 11% growth in 2016 for the tourism industry, Brian Carlton hears from Dick Warren, owner of the Trevallyn based Tasmania Zoo, on whether the boom has had a positive effect on their self-sufficient business.

Mr. Warren claims the zoo has seen approximately a 45% increase in business since Christmas, attracting visitors from far and wide.

“We’ve got one [Tasmanian] Devil here…he’s just a real big sook, and he likes to have cuddles,” Mr. Warren believes the opportunity to get up close and personal with the animals, makes their zoo stand out from the rest.
