Tasmanian Alkaloids have partnered with AusCann to secure a license to grow medicinal marijuana in Tasmania

It is hoped that Tasmanians will have access to the pain-relieving drug from September 1st, with products to be grown at Tasmanian Alkaloids Westbury facility.

Managing Director from AusCann Elaine Darby chats to Brian Carlton about this significant step towards medicinal cannabis in Tasmania.

"Intially, certainly it will be oral taking of oil and most likely in a capsule form... we will also be looking at other modes of delivery.... the great thing with oral is that it does have a fairly sustained effect in terms of your treatment."
