Coronavirus in Tasmania

Tasmania has its first case of the coronavirus which has spread from China around the globe and has a growing death toll.
A 40 year old man tested positive after arriving in Launceston having travelled from Iran and is now in the Launceston General Hospital.
He flew in to Launceston on Saturday afternoon's Virgin flight VA-1368.
Director of Public Health Dr. Mark Veitch understands his exposure to the broader Tasmanian community has been limited.
"He had very little movement through Launceston in between the airport and reaching his residence, so we don't believe that there's any wider risk to the Launceston community, a public health response is taking place right now."
Premier Gutwein has made a statement about the coronavirus case a short while ago.
"We are well prepared as a state, the state emergency management committee which met is ensuring a whole of government approach to a level one response under our pandemic plan."
