$160 million of the Liberals newly announced health spending is to be directed to the North.
Leader Will Hodgman's outlined how $87 million is allocated for the redevelopment and expansion of the Launceston General Hospital to open 40 new beds.
His Minister Michael Ferguson's described some of what's planned.
"We're going to build an entirely new womens and childrens precinct on the top of Ward 4K, because we've engineered the new expanded 4K to be able take an extra level on top. We're now committing to that extra level, it will become a state of the art womens / childrens health precinct."
Another 168 car spaces will also be built at the hospital, while $1.4 million will be spent on airconditioning upgrading and installation.
In total, the Liberals have pledged $757 million for health across the state,
