Whispers of the TSL competition faxing the axe has some clubs on edge as their Presidents prepare to meet AFL Tasmania CEO Trisha Squires next week.
She's part of the steering committee formed to repair the state's slumping fortunes around football.
There is also talk of the under 18 Tassie Mariners becoming a full participant in the TAC Cup on the mainland, which Sports Identity Rick Fontyn likes the sound of.
"Netball has got a tremendous pathway here in Tasmania now to get to a national level, as has soccer, so what I am hearing about the under 18 national competition is positive because I certainly hope, that at the very least, we get a Tasmanian team playing in that regularly every week."
He also told Tasmania Talks "I sincerely hope that the state league does stay and what I would love to see is a North West team, one single North West team, because there must be enough players, quality players, that actually want to play at the highest level."
