29 Tasmanian motorcyclists have been issued fines, following a police blitz in the states south.
Police intercepted 237 riders with around 12% of those nabbed for offences ranging from speeding, to riding an unregistered bike.
Senior Constable Despina Amerikanos said Tasmania Police is urging riders to take more accountability for their safety.
“We should not accept that road fatalities are inevitable, especially when many
deaths and serious injuries on our roads are avoidable.
“...it’s disappointing that some riders continue to believe the road rules do not apply to them which is totally unacceptable,”said Senior Constable Despina Amerikanos.
Five fatal motorcycle crashes have been recorded this year.
