It's a four and a half year jail sentence for Paul Hutchinson, the man who set off a siege with police which lasted 14 hours in Hobart's Moonah in November 2016.
During the standoff, the 48 year old fired at police twice with a shotgun.
The court heard Hutchinson was battling severe pain from a leg injury and was struggling with reduced medication.
His sentence is back dated to when was arrested, having been in custody since. He will be eligible to apply for parole early next year.
