Not guilty due to insanity

Daryl Royston Wayne Cook has been found not guilty of murder by reason of insanity over the 2016 death of a North Hobart shopkeeper.

He was accused of stabbing Voula Delios 22 times in her shop, where she died.

The Justice in the case has ordered 36 year old Cook to be confined to a mental health facility.

During the trial, the jury heard of Cook's schizophrenia, drug use and abuse as a child, while a psychiatrist expressed the opinion he could have killed again.
