Two paramedics needed treatment from colleagues after their ambulance was caught up in a crash on the Bass Highway at Burnie on Thursday.
"A white Holden utility travelling south on Wilson Street had entered the intersection on a green light but failed to give way to the emergency vehicle also entering the intersection, causing the two vehicles to collide and resulting in the Holden rolling onto the driver’s side and stopping on the southern side of the highway," said Sergeant Katrina Chivers.
The ambulance, which was on its way to a medical emergency, was under lights and sirens at the time.
Two paramedics were treated at the scene while the ute's driver was taken to hospital and discharged later.
