Jail for garlic gaffes

It is jail time for the Tasmanian farmer Letetia Anne Ware for major biosecurity breaches by illegally importing numerous batches of garlic bulbs from America and Canada between 2015 and 17.

In Hobart's Supreme Court, 11 months prison was handed to the 53 year old from Middleton in the state's south, but she'll only serve two on good behaviour conditions.

Her conviction wound up Ware's role as Chair of the Australian Garlic Industry Association.
