A man and a teenager are behind bars on firearm charges after a lengthy investigation into reports of gunshots in Launceston last month.
Police received reports of gunfire from New Street in Invermay on Thursday December 19 and then again on Warring Street in Ravenswood on Saturday December 28.
No one was injured in either of the alleged incidents, but detectives have been on the case since then.
Now, a 26-year-old from Invermay and a 17-year-old from South Launceston have been charged with a number of firearm offences, including recklessly discharge a firearm, discharge a firearm in a public place and possess a firearm without a licence.
Police have also recovered a stolen firearm and ammunition.
The two accused have been remanded in custody ahead of court appearances at later dates.
"Police would like to thank members of the public who assisted throughout the investigation," a statement said.
