Clark Federal MP Andrew Wilkie is on the warpath, accusing a Hobart pokie venue of flouting social distancing laws
The Member for Clark has released images of gamblers sitting side by side at machines at the Carlyle at Derwent Park.
He's also had reports of venues including Wrest Point similarly failing to enforce the rules.
“The ignoring of critically important health directions by the Carlyle Hotel is risking the lives of Tasmanians and risking a second wave in the State," he said.
"We know that poker machines are dangerous enough as it is, without putting everyone’s health at risk by failing to ensure physical distancing.”
Mr Wilkie has taken a pot shot at the Carlyle's owner, the Woolworths-controlled Australian Leisure and Hospitality Group.
