The new member for Rosevears has made her maiden speech to Tasmania's parliament.
Jo Palmer began by sharing the personal details of her birth in New Zealand in 1971 to a teen mother and having no name for the first month of her life.
The former TV newsreader recounted her adoptive father's battle with MS shrouding her childhood in Launceston and how the supportive kindness of others became a model for her life.
"You never know the when the kindness you show is indeed the miracle that someone else is waiting for."
