The Sydney Opera House and Launceston's Town Hall aren't usually two landmarks you'd expect in the same category - but they are this Tuesday night.
Town Hall is set to light up in red ahead of the Heart Foundation's major 24-hour fundraiser, Give with Heart Day.
The fundraising day is Wednesday - with landmarks across the country to be lit in red the night before/day of in the hopes of raising money and awareness.
Heart Foundation interim group CEO Professor Garry Jennings says the illuminations represent an incredible show of support.
“COVID-19 has divided our nation in so many ways over the past 18 months. We are thankful and humbled that the states and territories have come together in this way, lighting up their treasured landmarks in a show of united support for the Heart Foundation on the eve of Give with Heart Day,” he said.
“Give with Heart Day rallies supporters throughout Australia to help raise money for heart disease research. Through life-saving research funded by the Heart Foundation, many Australians are given a second chance at life, keeping families together.”
The charity aims to raise $1.5 million from the event.
