Have your say on estuary future

Another round of community consultation has opened for the future of kanamaluka/Tamar Estuary.

More than 250 responses were submitted on the draft vision during the first stage of consultation.

Tamar Estuary Management Taskforce chair Gary Swain says new design concepts have been created based on this feedback.

"We want to confirm what we heard from the community and that these ideas are now reflected in the vision," he said.

"The first stage of consultation indicated that people want to see improved and accessible public areas with greater connectivity.

"They also wanted to see more revegetation, improvements to stormwater and sewage systems, more seating and shade, as well as the installation of more bins to prevent littering.

"We also heard that the most important aspects of the estuary for people were environment, natural beauty and tracks and trails."
