Hobart single mum celebrates lottery win

A single mum from Hobart will be buying her very first home after a mammoth lottery win.

The Apple Isle resident had only recently started playing TattsLotto when she took out a division one winning entry worth $1,234,399.86.

There were five division one winning entries across Australia in TattsLotto draw 4197, drawn Saturday 9 October 2021.

Across Australia there were five winning entries, two of each from New South Wales and Queensland.

Her winning 12-game QuickPick entry was purchased online at thelott.com.

The Hobart mum will be saying goodbye to renting and purchasing her first home.

"I am a single mum, and I have been doing it tough, so this really is life-changing."

She's explained the prize was a game-changer for her family.

"I am going to buy a house."

Some family holidays and a new car are also in the pipeline for the lucky winner.

Speaking to an official from The Lott, the winner couldn't contain her excitement.

"“It’s unreal. Holy sh**!”

This year there have been 14 division one wins in Tasmania, collectively worth more than $17.51 million.
