Tasmania has recorded its lowest daily COVID-19 infection tally for weeks, with 495 new cases.
12 people are in hospital being treated specifically for the virus, up from 11 on Sunday, among 33 COVID-positive patients in total.
Two people are in the intersive care unit, up from one on Sunday.
Recoveries have outpaced infections, meaning the active case count has dipped to just over 4500.
However the state's public health department is bracing for a spike in cases once tests return from a busy weekend of Dark Mofo in Hobart.
