West Coast driver reportedly nabbed at 171 km/hr

Police have slammed the alleged behaviours of a Strahan driver, after a traffic stop on the West Coast.

The 49-year-old was travelling north between Strahan and Zeehan when he was stopped by officers near Little Henty River on Friday afternoon.

Officers say the grey Holden Commodore was clocked at 171km/hr in a 100km/hr zone.

The driver has had his vehicle clamped and he will face court at a later day.

Locals who spot dangerous driving are being urged to report it immediately to police on 131 444.

Dash cam footage can be submitted to the Tasmanian Police Evidence Portal.

If it's an emergency or life-threatening situation, ring Triple Zero (000).
