Do you know an older person who is too young to retire, but has been put on Newstart?

This seems to be the reality for a startling number of people in Tasmania, who are rejected from a disability pension or similar. They are placed on Newstart, but are unable to get a job because of their age.

Linda is one such person, as she spent the last 20 years of her life as a carer for her husband. She tells Brian Carlton her story.
