Tassal’s new plan to dump treated waste from its Macquarie Harbour into Hell’s Gates has been questioned by the West Coast community.

Many members opposed the plan, instead preferring a plan to discharge waste into the Kelly Channel. The community was surprised to hear that the plans for Hell’s Gates were still going ahead despite their feedback.

Chairman of the Strahan Community Aquaculture Forum, Leigh Styles, talks with Brian Carlton about the issues with Tassal’s waste plans.
