A former Director of Action on Smoking and Health in the UK says that Australia’s stance on e-cigarettes and vaping is “very perplexing.”

Leading UK advocate on ecigarettes, Clive Bates, has come to Australia to talk about the benefits of vaping as an alternative to smoking.

“This is working! There’s good evidence at an individual level, at a community level…. I wanted to come to Australia… and make the case that this is actually a good thing,” says Mr Bates.

Brian Carlton, who is a vaper, talks with Clive Bates in an extensive conversation about e-cigarettes and Australia’s attitude towards them.
