A Tasmanian mother, whose son was lost overboard whilst serving on the HMAS Darwin in 2002, has been moved to tears by the news the vessel is set to become a dive ship off the coast of St Helens.

Leading Seaman Cameron Gurr was just 20 years old when he was lost at sea off Christmas Island - his body was never found.

Calling in as part of Free Range Friday, Tasmania Talks listener, Joan from Summerhill, tells Brian Carlton she feels like a part of her son is coming home to Tassie with the ex-navy ship.
