We’ve camped there for 50 years, and won’t be going anymore – community angry over Montagu Park price rise

One Burnie resident who has been visiting the Montagu Park Recreation Reserve for 50 years, says he will no longer be making the annual summer trip.

This comes off the back of a price rise of campsites for the park, which has left the North-West and Circular Head community angry.

Mayor of Circular Head Council, Daryl Quilliam, told Brian Carlton earlier this week that the park is costing the council $45,000 in debt, and this was the reason for the price rise.

Lindsay from Burnie calls in on Free Range Friday to give Brian his thoughts on the park changes, and says that he will no longer be camping there.
