What would you say if just four hours of your time a week could help to retrain a young boy’s mind?
Well that’s exactly the case for six year old Jackson, who has been diagnosed with autism. His family is using an American program called Son-Rise to help manage his non –verbal autism, and this involves having volunteers of all ages and genders developing a bond with Jackson, so he can learn to play and retrain his brain.
Kylie Courtney-Wylie is Jackson’s mum, and she joins Brian Carlton this morning to speak about Jackson’s condition and she’s looking for in a volunteer.
If you are interested in volunteering and would like to learn more, please contact Kylie on 0409 966 255. At this stage she is particularly looking for young males who might be interested in playing with Jackson.
