The Australian Pesticides and Veterinary Medicines Authority (APVMA) needs to be proactive to stop misinformation in the public sphere regarding glyphosate, says CEO of the Tasmanian Farmers and Graziers Association, Peter Skillern.

There has been concerns for several years that Roundup, a grass and weed killer used by almost all farmers, could be the cause of several serious illnesses thanks to the glyphosate. This includes several allegations of that the chemical caused non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma.

Mr Skillern speaks with Brian Carlton about these concerns, and says that the TFGA are still encouraging farmers to use the chemical, but the sector needs some reassurance as to safety.
