A Tasmanian feminist rights group has accused a former anti-discrimination commissioner of trying to ban them from speaking at a forum.

Isla MacGregor and her colleague Bronwyn Williams, of Women Speak Tasmania, will speak at the Women’s International League for Peace and Freedom (WILPF) in Hobart next week. However former anti-discrimination commissioner, Robin Banks, has written to WILPF to ask them to reconsider the invitation to Women Speak, given their ‘hateful views’ on proposed gender laws.

Isla MacGregor joins Brian Carlton this morning and says that it is painfully clear to her that there is a campaign to silence Women Speak Tasmania and their opposition to the proposed law changes.
