There are allegations that a Hobart business has been awarded a tender over local Launceston companies, despite the wish for a ‘community-based’ focus.
Thomas Paul Security applied for a tender to provide security for the Cataract Gorge, which they have held in the past but not recently. They were allegedly told they were not awarded the contract because they were not ‘community-based’ enough, yet the tender ultimately went to Tasmania Protective Services in Hobart.
Shane Reynolds, Business Development Manager for Thomas Paul Security, joins Brian Carlton and says it’s not about missing out on the tender, but it’s about supporting local businesses.
