There are some truly inspiring people in our community, and you can find several of them down at the bowls club in Launceston.
Bowlers with a Disability Tasmania has been operating since 2009, and the group has gone from strength to strength ever since. Four local players headed over the last year’s National Championships in WA, and came second by 0.5% of a point.
Looking towards the National Championships in Mackay next year, Bowlers with a Disability Tasmania is looking to send a full team of around 20 players plus carers to the event, but need sponsors to do so.
Charles Thomas, President of Bowlers with a Disability Tasmania, joins Brian Carlton this morning to speak about the National Championships and how a life-changing event led him to form the group.
They are also looking for a physiotherapist or similar to train as a classifier for their Gala week. If you would like to get in touch about sponsorship or becoming a classifier, please contact Charles on 0481 481 629.
