Fairness will be put back into the hotel industry with new legislation on price parity, according to Assistant Shadow Treasurer and Shadow Competition Minister, Andrew Leigh.
Currently, hotels cannot advertise prices on their own website lower than the price on third party booking sites such as Exepedia or Booking.com. These third-party sites have already been banned in several European countries.
Mr Leigh joins Brian Carlton this morning to discuss this issue which is seeing Tasmanian hotels unfairly treated by overseas third party sites.
They also discuss Labor’s electric vehicle policy, which would see electric vehicles take up 50% of new car sales by 2030.
