A Copping man is taking on the Hobart City Council over their parking meters, after receiving what he believes to be an unwarranted fine.
Garrick Cameron was in a two-hour parking bay opposite the Grand Chancellor Hotel in Hobart a few weeks ago, visiting at the Royal Hobart Hospital. When his partner went to feed the meter, the payment was accepted, even though the time-period was past the two hour limit.
Garrick has since set up an online petition to get rid of these new parking meters in Hobart, and has received almost 5,000 signatures so far.
Garrick talks to Brian Carlton this morning about the incident, and whether he thinks the petition will have any impact.
