The state budget for 2019 – 2020 was handed down in Parliament yesterday, and revealed more spending for health, infrastructure and education.

However, it was also revealed that the Government would be in net debt – up to $1.1 billion over the next four years, due to funding for infrastructure projects.

A surplus of $57.4 million has been forecast for next year, with $567 million in surpluses over the next four years.

Treasurer Peter Gutwein joins Brian Carlton this morning to talk budget number-crunching, and what he thinks of the responses to it.
