The North-West community is voicing their concerns regarding a proposal for a 170km transmission powerline to connect the Robbins Island Wind Farm to the grid.

The $1.6billion wind farm is being built on Robbins Island by UPC Renewables, and the current proposed path for the transmission towers would go through farm land, crown land and nature reserves.

Romy Griener, spokesperson for the Nietta Action Group, speaks to Brian Carlton about the community concerns, and what she believes would be viable alternative to having the transmission poles.

Tasmania Talks listeners also call in to give their views on the project.
