Veteran journalist Kerry O’Brien is used to being in the spotlight, but he’s set to take on an unexpected role this Saturday.
Mr O’Brien will make his theatre debut and swansong in the play 1984, based on the book of the same title. The play was adapted, directed and produced by local Stephen Beckett, of Stephen Beckett Productions.
Kerry and Stephen join Brian Carlton live in the studio this morning to discuss the play, which takes on themes of free speech and increasing surveillance. Due to this, Brian also asks Kerry about his thoughts on the recent media raids and freedom of the press.
