With wild weather lashing the state last night, crews from the SES and TasNetworks were working through the night to eliminate power outages and general weather issues.

The SES has attended 12 – 15 calls for assistance over the past 24 hours, with Northern Regional Manager Mhairi Revie suggesting that people were fairly well prepared for the severe weather period.

TasNetworks has 22 current known power outages across the North and North-West, affecting around 1800 customers.

Ms Revie talks to Rick Fontyn this morning about some of the things members of the public should be aware of during severe weather. If you would like to volunteer for the SES, click here.

Listen as Jacqui gives Rick an update on current power outages, as she says there are long delays and unknown estimated restoration times.
