Earlier this year, Garrick Cameron was hit with what he believes was an unwarranted parking infringement from Hobart City Council.
Whilst visiting at the Royal Hobart Hospital, Garrick parked in a two-hour parking bay opposite the Grand Chancellor Hotel. When his partner returned to the vehicle, the machine offered the option of extending their stay past the two-hour limit, so they went ahead did so. However, the council claims this is breaking the law.
This week, another Hobart man in a similar situation disputed his fine in court, and was made to pay the cost of the fine as well as an additional $500 in court fees.
Listen as Garrick joins Rick Fontyn to discuss the issue, stating that despite the outcome of the other case, he still plans to take his to court.
