The Glenorchy RSL has shut abruptly, but there are not concerns for any other RSL clubs across the state, according to RSL State President Rob Dick.
The Glenorchy RSL announced on Facebook over the weekend its immediate closure, to the shock of staff and patrons. It has been in administration for the past two weeks, and it was decided that the club could not go on any longer.
Rob Dick talks to Brian Carlton this morning about some of the factors that may have led to the closure of the Glenorchy RSL, and says that they are not aware of any other clubs in the state facing a similar fate.
Three time Golden Guitar winner and three time ARIA nominated musician Jean Stafford also calls in. She was booked for two gigs this Thursday and Friday at the Glenorchy RSL, and had no idea about the closure until fans called her this morning.
She tells Brian Carlton that she is keen for the concert to go ahead, but needs to find an alternative venue.
*Since this chat, Jean has managed to find an alternative venue at the Glenorchy Football Club. Her concert will be held there on this Sunday 28th July from 4pm to 6pm. You can buy tickets here.
