A motion set to be tabled at the Labor state conference has been labelled as ‘stupid’ by the Tasmanian Small Business Council (TSBC).

The motion proposes that Easter Tuesday be extended for all workers, as well as having Christmas Eve and New Year’s Eve classified as a public holiday from 7pm – 12pm.

CEO of the TSBC, Robert Mallet, says that the last thing Tasmania needs is more public holidays, as the cost is too much on small business operators.
