An American expert in foreign affairs says that Russia’s expanding influence could see the end of Europe as we know it.

James Kirchick is a Visiting Fellow in the Center on the United States and Europe and Project on the International Order and Strategy at the Brookings Institute. The esteemed journalist has written a book titled The End of Europe: Dictators, Demagogues and the Coming Dark Age, which details the threat of Russia to Europe.

Mr Kirchick joins Brian Carlton for a wide-ranging chat, which includes concerns for Hong Kong protestors. He also says that he could not understand why moving closer to China would be in the strategic or moral interests of anyone in Australia.
