The money lost to scams in Australia each year is ‘easily in the billions,’ according to Deputy Chair of the ACCC, Delia Rickard.
This week is National Scams Awareness Week, and the ACCC is reminding people of steps they can take to ensure they don’t get scammed. Three top tips from Ms Rickards are: don’t tell scammers who you are, don’t give them any money and don’t let them have access to your computer.
Ms Rickard talks to Brian Carlton this morning about some of the most common scams about, and how you can stay safe.
