The Hobart City Council (HCC) is yet to make a decision on building height restrictions, despite it being put before three council meetings and having an informal elector poll.

Last night the HCC voted down the motion to impose a 60m building height on developments in the CBD. Instead they have decided to work with the State Government to work towards the Central Hobart Precinct Plan for Hobart, which will include guidelines around building heights.

HCC Alderman Simon Behrakis talks to Brian Carlton about this morning about the decision and where this leaves HCC.

They also discuss a population density study, which Simon alleges was leaked from Council to the media. Simon agrees that Hobart needs to look at more inner-city living in and around the Hobart CBD.
