Heritage rail advocates claim cycling numbers collapsing, State Gov should rethink North East rail plan

North East Residents and Farmers Inc is calling on the State Government to rethink plans for the North East rail corridor.

The current plans, which were considered a compromise, include a heritage rail for part of the way, and a bike track for the rest.

However, Stuart Bryce, Chairman of North East Residents and Farmers Inc, says the heritage rail should be the main focus, as cycling numbers reportedly continue to decline
