In the first six months of 2019, Tasmanian onion exports more than doubled 2018 results, with $18.5 million worth of onions exported overseas.

Exports to Indonesia have gone from 190 tonnes in 2018 to 830 tonnes so far this year, and exports to Europe have also increased from 6,700 tonnes to 15,000. This growth has put onions on top as Tasmania's biggest export vegetable.

Listen as Ian Locke, from the Tasmanian Fruit and Vegetable Export Facilitation Group (TFVEFG), joins Rick Fontyn to talk about this great success, and the future of Tasmania’s onion exports.
