Upgrades to the surface of UTAS Stadium are expected to be completed by tomorrow, with approximately three quarters of the new, Dilston-grown turf now laid.
The stadium has previously been acknowledged as one of the best playing surfaces in Australia, but Inveresk Precinct manager, Robert Groenewegen, says it was definitely ‘overdue’ for an upgrade.
Listen as Robert joins Martin Agatyn to discuss the upgrades, which he claims are a complete reconstruction of the playing field.
Robert also shares details of some of the exciting things that have been found throughout the upgrade process, which was last done back in 1999.
