There is a common misconception here in Tassie that we have a higher UV than the rest of the nation, with many of us having suffered harsh sunburn on a colder day.
However, as UV and temperate aren’t related, this isn’t actually the case.
Listen as Ella French, Project Officer for Cancer Prevention from Cancer Council Tasmania, joins Martin Agatyn to clarify.
Ella shares why we need to ‘slip, slop, slap’ regardless of the temperate, stating that you can’t tell that UV is damaging your skin until it’s too late.
Ella also discusses the importance of keeping an eye on your skin and getting regular skin checks.
