Less than two weeks on from the shark attack of a 10-year-old boy on a boat near Stanley, another fishing boat has had a confronting shark encounter.
Sean Vinar and his son James were seal-watching on their boat near Tenth Island on the state’s north coast, when they experienced an unprovoked attack on their boat by what is believed to have been a Great White Shark.
Watch the amazing footage captured by James Vinar below (please be advised some colourful language is used (understandably) and viewer discretion is advised):
Listen as Sean joins Aaron Stevens to share details of the frightening encounter.
Following this, Aaron checks in with shark expert, Professor Culum Brown, head of the Fish Lab at Macquarie University, to make sense of the attack and whether it could have been related to the Stanley incident.
