The Dorset Council is set to vote on the Development Application (DA) for part of the proposed North East Rail Trail bike track at tonight’s council meeting.

If approved, the DA would see approximately 26 kilometres of the council’s proposed 40 kilometre, $1.5 million rail trail constructed from Wyena to Scottsdale.

However, the North East Farmers and Residents group will present a petition at the meeting with around 1,100 signatures, calling for the council to rethink pulling up the rail corridor between Lilydale Falls and Scottsdale.

Listen as Stuart Bryce, Chair of North East Residents and Farmers Inc., joins Mike O’Loughlin to discuss the group’s concerns.
