An 87-year-old man from Riverside was reportedly left waiting nine hours in a plastic chair at the Launceston General Hospital’s emergency department last week while suffering from pneumonia.

A lack of beds at the hospital also meant the man was left waiting for 30 hours to be admitted to a ward, holding up much-needed bed in the emergency department.

Listen as the man’s granddaughter, Jessie Lincoln, joins Mike O’Loughlin to detail the unfortunate situation, calling on state politicians to act now.
